The lakshmi Foods brand adores the rice varieties as much as it does for refined edible rice bran oil which is produced in the factory using the rice bran, a by-product. Rice bran gives out edible oil if processed within a short span. Otherwise the oil changes its chemical properties and becomes non edible and find use only in soap making. LEAF, being a large mill has integrated facilities for rice bran oil. Rice bran edible oil is known as Health Oil worldwide due to its fat reduction qualities.
Another by product which comes out from rice bran after the extraction of oil is the De-oiled Cake (DOC). DOC is sent to cattle feed plant where various nutrients are mixed in it in the automatic cattle feed plant. The cattle feed so produced is sold in the market under the brand name Heera Moti. The company has obtained ISI mark for this brand due to consistency in its quality.
The Lakshmi Group has successfully harnessed Punjab's unique strengths of high quality paddy and wheat, well irrigated land, sound infrastructure, easy access to raw material and developed markets. This will enable company to expand and diversify its product range year after year.
The company has renovated and modernized its office premises
situated in its factory at Khamano. The office today is very well laid out with all modern amenities and fully computerized with high speed connectivity. The company runs all its activities on the
ERP system which was made operational in the month of march 2006.
