Lakshmi Energy and Foods Ltd. (LEAF)
, one of the largest producers
of rice in the world, has been in operation since 1981. The company's plant, one
of the largest and most modern paddy processing units in the world, is spread across
125 acres and situated along the scenic Chandigarh-Ludhiana National Highway, at
Khamanon (Punjab), one hour drive from Chandigarh. The plant has state-of the-art
machinery, custom-picked from all across the globe, including Japan, Germany, USA
and Denmark. All stages of operation of the plant are fully automatic and controlled
by PLC. The grains are not subject to even a slight human touch throughout the process.

by a well spread out storage capacity of over 300,000 MT, which is being expanded
further by around 1000,000 MT by building modern warehouses. The company also has
its own logistics and handling set up, including a full fledged transport division
with over 50 wide-bodied trucks, and the fleet would be increased to 100 trucks
in near future.

the ultimate varieties of rice, its long grained basmati being a real show stealer,
for both the domestic as well as the international markets. The company also produces
various other grades of rice for mass consumption in India. The Company takes it
product portfolio beyond rice processing. It has a complete value chain from paddy
to rice, rice to rice bran edible oil, deoiled cake to cattle feed, wheat flour
and eco-friendly 'Green Power' generated from rice husk The rice bran edible oil,
which is an excellent medium for cooking, is one of the best one can find, especially
because of its fat-reducing qualities. The 'Green Power' generated from rice husk,
a waste by-product, is also one of the cleanest varieties of power.
LEAF has a host of ambitious plans to augment its portfolio by adding other agri-products
to its range in the near future. LEAF is shortly planning an aggressive all-India
launch for 32 varieties of it's branded rice under the already established 'Lakshmi
Foods' brand identity. Besides catering to differing tastes and requirements in
India, it also plans to have a very strong presence across the whole of Asia, Europe
and U.S. The SKUs will be made available at different price ranges so as to cater
to a varying diversity of rice consumers. LEAF also intends to add more food products
to the market in the near future under its brand umbrella.
Packaging of LEAF's final products happens in a fully automatic plant using the
latest technology in tamper-proof bags, meeting the strictest of international standards
in packaging, all so that the unmatched quality, purity, aroma and taste of LEAF’s
